Pathanamthitta
Pathanamthitta district is situated near the western ghats and bordered by the hills. Blessed by nature, the district is famous for its scenic beauty, fairs and festivals. It is recognised as the `headquarters of pilgrimage tourism' in the State of Kerala .
This" Land of Temples" is particularly famous for the hill shrine of Sabarimala, dedicated to Lord Ayyappan. The churches and Mosques too occupy a prominent place among the respective religious communities.
Half of the total area of the district comes under forest area.
Aranmula
Aranmula has been declared as an international tourism destination by the Union Government. The famous Parthasarathi temple on the banks of the holy river Pamba, and dedicated to Lord Krishna attracts thousands of devotees. During Onam Festival there take place the famous aranmula boat race in the river Pamba. The special Aranmula boats are known as "Palliyodam".
And is also famous for Aranmula Kannadi (Mirror) , is made from a metallic mixture by a traditional family. In Aranmula there is also a Vasthu Vidya Gurukulam is situated.
Kadammanitta
Kadammanitta is famous for the padayani which is an important ritual art form performed in the premises of the Kadamanitta Devi Temple. This art form is an offering to the mother goddess.
Kaviyoor
The Kaviyoor Mahadeva temple which was constructed in the early years of the 10th century is one of the oldest of the Mahadeva temples in Kerala. Hera is also a Hanuman Temple.
Thekekudi Cave Temple in Kaviyoor is one of the rare type of cave temple in Kerala. This temple is constructed in the Pallava architectural style and was built in the 8th century. Apart from Ganapathi, Maharshi, Dwarapalaka idols in the sreekovil which in inside the cave, there is also a Sivalinga which is about three feet in height .
Konni
Konni is famous for the Elephant training place . Konni comes under the forest area is a beautiful place to visit.
Kakki
Kakki reservoir, set in sylvan background, is a 'tourists' delight. The splendid artificial lake offers exhilarating boating experience . The surrounding forest abounds in tigers, elephants, deers and monkey.
